How Ordering Works

Buying fabric by the yard from The Fabric Lot is straightforward. This page is the short path from first visit to checkout.

1. Pick the exact fabric

Open a product and choose the color / construction option you need (for example: French terry vs matching rib, or 12.5 oz / Orange / 60"). Matching rib is a separate line item — it is not included automatically.

Not sure on color or hand feel? Request a swatch first (~4" × 4").

2. Enter yards

Quantity 1 = 1 yard (36 inches along the length). Width is listed separately on each product. We cut to order in Los Angeles; when stock allows, your yards ship as one continuous piece.

3. Add to cart → checkout

Add the selected option and yardage to your cart.
Review the cart line (option + yards) carefully.
At checkout, first-time buyers can enter code WELCOME10 for 10% off while the code remains active.
Choose shipping or ask about Los Angeles pickup by arrangement (no walk-in street address).

Timing & shipping

Processing usually takes 1–3 business days (weekends/holidays excluded; busy periods can take longer). Estimated transit is often 2–4 business days within California and 2–7 business days elsewhere in the U.S. (not a guarantee). Free domestic shipping on orders of $75+; other UPS/USPS rates are calculated at checkout (includes a 9% handling adjustment shown before payment). International: rates at checkout — domestic free-shipping does not apply. Full details: shipping policy.
